The problem with insomnia

Insomnia isn’t just a sleep problem

We’ve talked about the different types of insomnia and what happens in your sleep…But you know that this isn’t just a sleep problem.

From all the patients I’ve treated, a lot of the same themes keep coming up…

Insomnia is one of the most lonely conditions I’ve ever heard of. It is insidious that you have to go through life as everybody else, but unlike everybody else, at night it’s a completely different story.

You have to go through so much at night, and still do what everyone else has to do during the day.

Not even doctors are able to help you?

You don’t get any validation from anywhere. Often, when you speak to your doctor or health care professionals, they stumped and feel nervous to treat you…

As a result, they might even try to treat you by saying it’s something else… Like depression or other condition. That’s because, as a professional community, we don’t know enough about how to treat the insomnia problem properly.

You might not feel like you get any reassurance from anywhere that you are suffering from a real condition. But it is a very insidious one, that can’t be seen.

It’s not just a night problem

You know it’s just not sleeping at night… It affects everything during the day.

It affects how you feel, your happiness, how present you feel in your own life and with your friends and family, amongst many other things going on around you.

Try to remember what it was like to have a good night’s sleep, or think about how it would feel to have this weight lifted and to never have this problem again.. That’s what we’re really talking about here.

We’re not talking about fixing a sleep problem that’s just plaguing you at night, we’re talking about fixing a life problem.
